August Bank Holiday Weekend

Spent Saturday and Sunday writing up some of the project. Sunday was a bad day, after spending most of the day writing 3-4 sections my document closed without saving, so all day's wor was lost.
So today was spent in the garden to keep me away from the pc in case i would go mad.

Monday 3rd.
Harvested more carrots, onions and potatoes from the tunnel. Noticed renewed slug activity due to the very wet weather. Found signs of mildew on some onions, particualrly ones lying under dense, moist carrot foilage. signs of yellow blotches, soft stems at neck and rotted moldy old stem leaves. i think i should have removed the garlic long ago as it just rotted to mold, all garlic lost and may have contirbuted to onions aswell.
carrots generally okay, only one or two split.

removed 6 other onions frm bed 6, 5 sturon and 1 red baron - soft necks and were moisture saturated by overhanging carrot foilage. found some slugs hiding also under carrot leaves and one grub.

pulled out the side weeds by hand and mulched the sides of bed no.2 where the orlas were - was happy to see alot of worms as i was digging the last spuds
out of the bed.
